These are only my top FREE recommendations so you know I use them everyday! I recommend these to anyone who wants their computer to run better and more secure. Proven software.

CCleaner is a freeware system optimization, privacy and cleaning tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space.

Lastpass is an online password manager and form filler that makes web browsing easier and more secure.  Set ONE password ad that's it access you passwords from anywhere or carry them with you..super secure. The last password you'll ever need..seriously.

Simply the best free (or paid) image program out there. Constantly updated and never has failed me yet.

Yes it's Microsoft and brand spanking new!  I personally use NOD 32 which is a paid Antivirus and probably the best. However Microsoft has started to catch up and I use this on my other two computers. Best thing it's FREE and detects everything! Give it a try.

GRC RANDOM PASSWORD GENERATOR if you use WiFi you had better be using WPA or even better WPA2 and a completely random passphrase.  Go here to get one (just keep hitting refresh until you are happy) and you'll improve your security a lot.  Lot's of GREAT security info on this site. If you are using WEP..you can get cracked fast regardless of the passphrase.

SyncToy 2.0 This is what I use for day to day backup,it takes just minutes.  I grew tired of most backup program this one is perfect.  Backup only the important folders and it runs FAST! No frills just works and is ultra-reliable. Windows only: Synchronize the contents of two folders, either across your home network or on the same PC with a free utility from Microsoft, SyncToy 2.0
